Vessel

Today, while dropping off my art for delivery, a UPS worker I see often looked at me and said, “I’m really proud of you.”

This echoed a conversation I had with someone else a few days earlier.

While we were talking she said, "I'm proud of you."

She quickly corrected herself, “Well - not proud because I’m not your mother but - ”

I interrupted her, “No, I like when people say that.”

She followed with a laugh saying, “Although I do wish my mom said that to me”

I laughed, “Me too”.

I felt comforted knowing both these people felt like vessels.

They gave into a subconscious thought before being able to question it
